I have a busy private practice in East Dulwich that was established in 2004 and offer short or long-term counselling and therapy for individuals. I worked for 24 years full-time in the counselling and therapy field, in a wide range of settings including the NHS and voluntary, public and private sectors. I am able to help with a wide range of issues although have particular expertise in bereavement, loss, trauma, workplace issues, problems with drugs, alcohol and addictive behaviours.

I am a Senior Accredited Member of the BACP. Members of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy can only apply for basic accreditation, which precedes Senior status, if they have completed substantial training and have completed at least 450 counselling hours with clients. I also retain a DBS check clearance to an Enhanced level.

How can I arrange to have counselling?

Counselling is usually arranged by the individual themselves. I normally suggest an initial session as an opportunity for us to look at what you would like to get out of the counselling, how we might work together and for you to ask any questions that you might have. Please note that I do not offer sessions for couples.

What might counselling help me with?

Over the years, I have had experience of working with a very broad range of clients. Counselling can help with issues including depression, bereavement, identity, loss, relationship difficulties, fertility, developing assertiveness, stress, problems with alcohol or drugs, trauma, workplace problems, dealing with change, culture, anxiety and issues related to gender, sexual and relationship diversity (GSDR). In sessions, my aim is to empower you and help you explore and address your concerns.

Confidentiality

As a senior accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, I work within their Ethical Framework and guidelines for confidentiality.
